Your Pet's Surgery

Your pet's safety and comfort are our highest priority at Arnold Animal Hospital. Whether your pet needs a routine spay or neuter procedure or requires a more complicated orthopedic surgery, our veterinarians and staff are ready to provide compassionate care using advanced veterinary surgical techniques.

Our hospital is capable of performing a variety of surgical procedures, including soft-tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Some of the procedures that we perform include luxating patellas (kneecap), bone fractures, thyroid, abdominal exploratories and more.

We understand that surgery can be a stressful procedure for you and your pet. It is our goal to make your pet comfortable - and provide you with peace of mind - during surgery. We encourage you to ask questions about your pet's procedure and welcome you to call and check on your pet following surgery.

Prior to surgery, your pet undergoes a full physical examination; we use this examination to develop an anesthesia protocol for your pet. During surgery, your pet's vital signs are monitored using a doppler blood pressure monitor and other advanced monitoring equipment. A trained veterinary technician is on hand to monitor your pet's condition during surgery and as long as he or she is under anesthesia. We use isoflurane anesthesia for pets undergoing surgery and provide pain medication before and after surgery to minimize discomfort.
